Probably the most useful, but not very well -known system tool

There are system tools like Sand by the Sea. Most promises a lot and keep little. There are some really good ones. And the Ninite tool of the two California developers Patrick Swieskowski and Sascha Kuzins belongs to this exquisite selection. Ninite? Yes really! Never heard? I’m not surprised! But this changes! Each hobby and in particular each professional system administrator will appreciate the internal values ​​of ninite: with a click, dozens of programs can be installed simultaneously, Ninite automatically maintains these updated programs and does it locally on a computer and in the local network. Ninite has been established in the United States for some time. NASA or the University of Harvard are among users. Because Ninite has not yet arrived in Germany is a bit of a mystery. It is definitely worth a more close look!

Program installations and very simple updates

Ninite, which is talked about Nin and no abbreviation or acronym, but the result of a more or less desperate research of a free, short and melodious com domain, automatically installs a large number of free standard programs and their updating in progress. Not only these activities in a very efficient way, but also with some beautiful additional functions that show that creators have really thought about development. Two practical examples:

A situation that everyone knows: an employment calculator must be established again. Chrome, Avira, Acrobat Reader, Thunderbird and Evernote must be installed. There are images in larger organizations. However, these have the disadvantage that the current versions of the program are not installed. Ninite is an attractive alternative path that eliminates the current problem and does not require preliminary work. Ninite automates the installation of these programs with a few clicks. To be precise: with only 8 clicks, these five programs can be installed; A further intervention is not necessary.

This situation is also common: the programs, once installed, must obviously be updated regularly. Especially with these well -known maples of problems such as the Acrobat reader, you must subsequently be so as not to leave the door and the gate open. Of course, it is also possible to use the manufacturer’s update cheggers, but with several system loads, in particular with different, Systray notifications are evident. Ninite can also help here. Ninite controls – manually or automatically – if the versions of the installed program are updated and updates the programs, if necessary. Again, Ninite makes the process as simple as possible. The update works in the background and no further interventions are needed.

The beautiful thing is that Ninite is suitable for small and large organizations as for the home user. The use is so simple that it cannot actually do anything wrong. You don’t even have to watch a video tutorial. You can start immediately.

If you want to install with Ninite programs, simply select the desired programs on the website www.ninite.com by clicking on the control boxes and downloading the associated installation program (the screenshot shows the selection of the programs supported on the website). Niinite currently supports over 100 freeware tools. The installation that downloads, then takes on the installation.

As soon as the installer has started, there is no most of the installation of the programs. This works in the background and Ninite suppresses all the queries that otherwise would be obtained during manual installation and responds to you in the best interest of the user. Only a state window keeps the user updated with progress. Since the downloads and ninite installations simultaneously, the installation could practically not be faster (see screenshot).

Thanks to the great Ninite customers, you can also be calmed when it comes to security. The developers do not want to have Harvard lawyers seriously started on the phone. Therefore, Ninite unloads only the installation supports from the manufacturer’s pages and control their integrity using signatures or hash. If something is wrong, no installation is performed. When installing it alone, Ninite guarantees that crapware is not installed. The language of the program is chosen in order to correspond to the system language. And there are not even surprises in choosing the version: with 64 -bit Windows systems, Ninite automatically selects the 64 -bit versions and the 32 -bit variant for all the others. In short: Ninite simulates the most probable behavior of an administrator and automates it.

Functionality

Depending on the Ninite Use version, the EXE associated is between 300 KB and 1300 KB. The Exe is performed directly in the RAM, which makes the installation of the program unnecessary. Here too the developers paid attention to simplicity and comfort. You can start immediately.

Ninite obtains the data of the most recent version for the system in question by the ninite servers and compensates for the installed versions. If the software is available in the current version on the system, Ninite simply jumps this program. If a tool is not installed or obsolete, Ninite gets the corresponding files and start the installation. Use the rules described above: only the producer repository, validation of the installation files, suppression of all tools of the tools and other junctions, as well as automatic selection of the variant and language.

For the administrators of the corporate networks, Ninite becomes really interesting through network functionality. In Active Directory and in the local network, the programs installed and their versions on the devices can be displayed through the software audit (see screenshot). If you recognize the need for an action, it can be resolved with Ninite as on a local computer. The integration with the remote monitoring and management tools (RMMS) is interesting for very large organizations. This offers Ninite for about 10 tools including Dell Kace, Labtech and Continuum.

All according to their need

Ninite is available in three forms. If you want to try it, you can do it for free using the Ninite installers Do. With the installer, all ninite support programs can be installed and – when the execution repeats itself – updates the same programs.

THE Ninite update It applies to private users who want to keep their freeware programs updated. Through an icon in the system area, it shows if there are updates. The updates themselves can therefore be installed with a click. Unfortunately, the update is not free. With $ 9.99 per year, however, it offers good performances for money.

The professional version is Ninite Pro. If you want to use Ninite in the network, you can’t avoid this version. All supported programs can be installed and updated using an intuitive graphic user interface. Network functions can also be activated and used using this surface. According to the target group, Ninite Pro can only be purchased in license packages. Up to 100 licenses cost $ 20 per month; 250 licenses $ 50 per month. Ninite Pro is in fact for use on a single calculator. For network administrators, however, it is certainly a financed option.

Support applications are generally answers within 48 hours. This promise of the manufacturer can be confirmed by his own experience. Unfortunately, the investigations must be made in English. Unfortunately, there is no German support or a German website. In Germany you can enjoy the Ninite only when you have a credit card. This is the only method of payment accepted.

Mandatory top, smaller defect in freestyle

Ninite automates the installation and updating of over 100 freeware programs. And this does it really well. If you want to catch shit or malware, install and update programs quickly, comfortably and without the risk of installing and updating programs, you have an excellent helper on your ninite. The voice level is also free. In reality it is a pity that Ninite does not offer German support and for paid versions they do not offer more common payment methods in Germany.
