We are hearing increasingly about saturation connected to too much content creation on the Internet. Some even go as far as to declare the end of Content Marketing. This is not surprising because the Internet is filled with competing content. The media themselves have altered their methods, focusing on speed to get the latest news or trends, as if only the first to report matters.
Drowning in a flood of content, we often do not know whom to trust. One result of this is that people no longer stick to a specific media; they engage with different media, of various kinds, making it harder to keep their attention. Consequently, brands invest large amounts of money and much time trying to connect with communities while their posts get lost in the constant noise of social media – if social media is not actively trying to hide them! And was the temporary content truly the best option to connect with your audience?.
Quality to survive

Fortunately, this doesn’t spell the end of content on the Internet. Content marketing and inbound marketing have revolutionized the way we create websites, the way we communicate with our customers and potential customers. They have allowed marketing to refocus on people rather than product.

Leadership by example | There is only one leadership strategy that works! While there has never been so much content available to Internet users (we produce as much information every two days as we have since the beginning of human culture in 2003), we must admit that much of this data is of poor quality, of little relevance and finds itself buried in countless search engine results pages. Very little consulted, this information has a very limited life.
Maybe your content is the same. If so, I’ll just give you some advice: produce optimized content for your readers, customers or potential customers. This is the golden rule of content marketing. That the company forgets about itself, that it forgets its products to focus on its audience. What do they need? What would they like to become? What are they passionate about? Google today tries to highlight quality content for its users. If you follow this rule and with a little intelligence and SEO, you should come out on top.
Nomadic content, the key to better reaching your audience?
As I mentioned in the beginning, people using the Internet are not as devoted as they used to be to the media they read. We switch from one website to another, drawn in by a headline or a picture, and sometimes we even forget the name of the website we visited. Also, this is the peak time for false information, as this way of using media tends to treat all sources equally in the eyes of an unaware reader.
Therefore, your content can no longer be tied only to your website or blog. It can’t be so focused anymore. It will need to live, break free from your pages, and fit into its surroundings. You will have to keep learning from those who engage with your content and this is what will help you create the next versions.

What if we reinvented advertising?Where do your readers come from? Have you recognized how they use your content? For instance, if many of them come from Linkedin, you should surely post directly to Linkedin on a regular basis. You would increase your impact and visibility. We could also mention Medium, which allows for a different kind of blogging and reaches a different group of people.
You can also try to broaden your audience. If so, why not consider Guest Blogging? Don’t do it just anywhere and at the first thought that pops up. Submit your roaming content to reputable platforms, blogs or websites. Depending on your following or your belief in the quality of your content, target websites with a lot of visitors. Keep this in mind: your content cannot stay trapped on your site! It must change to connect with your audience.
What should I post outside of my site?
Nomadic content doesn’t mean offering articles already published on your site. You can do this from time to time, it’s not a problem, but what will happen if a reader discovers your site and realizes that they are faced with strictly identical content on both platforms?
Your mobile content must be original. Also make sure it fits perfectly into the medium you’re publishing on. I write much shorter articles on Linkedin than on my blog, for example. I try not to exceed 800 words when posting original articles there. I also allow myself to write on slightly different topics, such as leadership and management.
Make sure your content always reflects you
If it needs to adapt to the platform it is published on, However, your nomadic content must not lose its identity. Uprooted people, those who leave the place where they grew up, are often much more attached to their roots than others. They must not forget who they are, they are not adrift.
Do the same with your content. Nomadic content—those that travel to sites other than yours—needs to maintain its tone and brand identity on each platform. Like a logo, your writing style and values must allow you to be recognized in the long term.
Brands that communicate without tone, without direction and without an editorial process rooted in their DNA and the expectations of their audience will miss their objectives. So if you use external service providers, it is essential that they are integrated into your internal thinking, that they can draw on your company’s resources and identity.
The message can be the same, if the form is too disparate you will lose your readers. This is why brands prefer long-term partnerships with their publishers or agencies. They increasingly make use of internal studies to manage their communication in a coherent manner.
Conclusion
Your identity or that of your company must shine through in every piece of content you produce. Because of this, it is important that your brand is well defined, that its values are clear, its DNA written and propagated internally. For your content marketing to work, become a media yourself and to do so:
- stay authentic,
- be agile and learn from your community
- target your content, you can’t please everyone.
