When we talk about cloud computing, we think about the ability to access files and perform various tasks over the Internet. This means that you do not need to install multiple applications on your computer, since you can use different online services to perform specific tasks, thanks to the fact that the data is located on the network and not on a specific computer.Once correctly connected to the online service, it is possible to use the tools and save all the work produced and then access it from anywhere. This is precisely why the computer is said to be in the cloud, since applications (from a word processor, to a game or a heavy video editor) are available on any computer that has an Internet connection.

As soon as the servers run a program or have access to certain information, the computer will only need the monitor and peripherals to interact.

Companies are embracing cloud computing as they look for ways to reduce costs, increase productivity and harness the power of complex data sets to gain market insights. According to American research, in 2012 companies spent 110.3 billion dollars on cloud services, a figure that is expected to grow by 17.7% every year until 2016.

To gain access to as many cloud services as possible to benefit business issues, employers require specific knowledge and skills from IT (information technology) professionals.

1. Hadoop

Hadoop is a software platform made with Java for distributed computing, concentrating on clusters and handling huge amounts of data. It was influenced by MapReduce and GoogleFS. In a recent study involving 1,000 hiring managers and recruiters in tech, 25% mentioned that the greatest need they expect for data analytics experts in the upcoming year is knowledge of Hadoop.

2. SOAP

Simple Object Access Protocol is a method for sharing structured data on a decentralized and distributed system. It uses the Extensible Markup Language for message formatting and usually depends on other Application Layer protocols. As a follow-up to XML-RPC, it describes how to encode an HTTP header and an XML document so that one computer’s application can send information to another computer’s application.

3. Python

It is a high-level, multipurpose coding language that focuses on making code easy to read and allows programmers to convey ideas using less code than what would be needed in other popular programming languages, offering efficient structures in both small and large applications.

In April 2008, Python was the first and only programming language supported by Google App Engine, and its straightforward and effective structures are still in use by cloud developers today.

4. Ruby

A strong and flexible typed programming language that is highly interpreted, featuring automatic memory management and general object-oriented reflection. It was designed by Yukihiro “Matz” Matsumoto in the 1990s, influenced by Eiffel and Lisp. It mixes a Perl-like style with similar features to Smalltalk. Ruby on Rails, often referred to as Rails, is an open-source full-stack web development framework for Ruby. Rails, which follows the Model-View-Controller (MVC) approach for organizing applications, is well-suited for cloud use thanks to its structure.

5. Perl

A stable and cross-platform programming language utilized in various industries, especially noted for its role in all forms of web development. It was initially created in 1987 by Larry Wall for the Unix operating system. Perl mixes characteristics from other programming languages like C, along with shell script functions, giving programmers strong text processing abilities for easy handling of text files. Its parsing abilities made it popular in the 1990s as a CGI scripting language.

6. PHP

Originally standing for Personal Home Page, now known as Hypertext Preprocessor, it was developed by Rasmus Lerdorf in 1995 and continues to be the most widely used server scripting language on the internet, employed by over 75% of all existing websites.

Cloud services have opened up even more opportunities for PHP developers, such as ease of migration and programming environments that greatly improve the upgrade process, allowing developers to focus on programming software and not creating test environments on local computers.

7.NET/Java
Microsoft’s cloud platform, known as Azure Services Platform, which has simplified the application migration process for .NET and Java developers, who can now use the same tools and APIs (Application Programming Interface) in their cloud and runtime environment that they are used to using in their local and runtime environment. This kind of combination of Java and .NET is the concept of “cloud development”. It offers many common building blocks for .NET that make it easier to build cloud-based applications.

8. Storage engineering
Storage engineers are typically responsible for installing and configuring the system for their employer. His responsibilities include planning installations and configurations of NAS (NAS), storage area network (SAN), backup/restore servers, tape library management software, and file recovery system management software.
