Collaboration in businesses is a new and creative way of working. Some already use this approach, but not all have adopted this method in their everyday tasks. However, in the last few years, as more apps have emerged that utilize the Cloud to save and share documents, teamwork done together and from different locations has become much simpler. There are thousands of apps designed to boost worker efficiency and improve business operations, but which ones truly succeed? We have chosen a few engaging apps that make teamwork an enjoyable experience.

EvernoteBusiness

The Evernote Business app is one of the best known in the business environment. It helps unite departments and improves communication between them. With this more integrated communication, collaborative problem solving becomes easier and more efficient. Another strong point of the app is the ease of receiving customer feedback, which greatly influences the formulation of the company strategy.

The app can be easily synced with an Evernote account and allows access to Evernote Premium. With this account, the user gets 2 GB of storage capacity per month, and the company gets an additional 2 GB for file sharing.

Dropbox

Dropbox is already a well-known file sharing app. Through it you can share PDF files, documents, folders and access them online or offline, from anywhere that has an Internet connection.

The free version of the app provides 2.5GB of storage with account upgrade options by investing $100 per year to get 100GB of space.

CiscoSocialMiner

This collaboration application provides a social media campaign management solution that monitors the Social Web for relevant customer posts. This information can be made available in real time to customer service or sales areas, facilitating the company/customer relationship. Likewise, it helps manage the brand through social media monitoring and a response system to customer posts requesting assistance.

Google Apps

Have you used collaboration with Gmail, Google Calendar, Drive, Docs, Sheets or Slides in the cloud? Probably yes, but all separately. You can integrate all of these apps and use them to organize your company’s projects. Google offers a 30-day free trial and then charges $5 per contributor.

Another popular Google app is Hangouts. It is very useful for collaborators who work remotely, as they can virtually participate in meetings and brainstorming sessions. You can share photos and add more than 10 people to Hangout.

Small talk

With Chatter, any company with a website can set up their own private social network at no cost. This Salesforce application provides a social network designed specifically for internal teamwork. The app is free and was created for Android devices with the goal of bringing the social collaboration found on desktops to Android phones, which enables mobile access and teamwork among different groups.

Chatter is already used by nearly 80 thousand businesses. For a person to use it, they need a work email address to receive an invitation to join. This restricts the sharing of information outside the company’s online workspace, but offers much more protection for sensitive information than other public social platforms. The material is only accessible within the domain, and only approved users can view it, ensuring the collaboration space is secure and trustworthy.

Exchanging information, overseeing projects, building teams, sending internal company messages and updates, organizing meetings, generating and documenting ideas are some of the ways to utilize this application.

Cisco acquisition, transformation and sharing technologies

Cisco MXE Media Experience Engine
This application can transform a captured video into a file of any format, optimizing the recorded content for the desired audience, regardless of the device on which the video is viewed or the type of transmission, whether via streaming or downloading the video.

Cisco Show and share
The Cisco Show and Share application allows you to view a video in streaming or download, however you want and wherever you want. The application automatically identifies the keywords of the dialogues, who is speaking and at which point in the video said dialogue takes place, helping the collaborator to find the point that interests him most using an interactive cursor directly on the platform.

Additionally, audiences joining the meeting via Show and Share can comment in real time, which increases collaboration among teams using the application. It is also possible to easily share the videos produced and the meetings held.

Cisco TelePresence content server
This Cisco application turns any video spot into a content streaming studio. You can record or stream broadcasts, in real time or on demand, record videos and show them to collaborators who were unable to attend the meeting, as well as record training sessions.

Flow

Flow turns project management into an incredibly simple and collaborative activity. A good portion of business apps try to perform multiple tasks at once, which can turn the application into something that annoys and doesn’t solve problems. On the other hand, Flow has a simple and very clean design, which guarantees peace of mind in managing tasks.

To plan a project you need to create a folder and add each project component with items. Tasks can be delegated to other collaborators via email, even to people who don’t have a Flow account. Task logging allows anyone involved in a project to see when someone assigns a task to someone else or completes a particular task.

Skype

One of the best-known applications for meetings with audio and video calls, Skype, has around 280 million users worldwide, of which 17.6 million in Brazil alone.

It is an excellent app for holding meetings with people from other places when you cannot be personally present at the location. Calls from one Skype to another are free or are charged if made to regular phone numbers. Skype also offers a video conferencing feature with instant messaging and telephony capabilities, making this app, available for both iOS, Android and desktop operating systems, a great communications tool for businesses.

Cisco WebEx meetings

This application allows you to hold online meetings with anyone to collaboratively present and share the content of a specific project. The collaborator can organize and manage all meeting activities and share files easily within the application itself. This speeds up meetings and decision-making and improves business results by increasing team productivity and reducing document printing and travel costs, among other expenses.

The app is available for both Android and iOS operating systems.

Productev

When business projects involve more than one person, what usually happens is that it is difficult to keep information updated and aligned.

The Producteev app helps organize everything by providing a powerful platform that lists tasks and projects that allow you to assign roles to collaborators and share them with everyone in the company. All data is stored encrypted on Producteev SL servers.

In this way it is possible to send alerts to the team when a new task is created or an existing one is updated. You can also mark tasks with relevance tags and priority levels. All these resources are organized in a common workspace where team collaborators can easily find their tasks and have an overview of all the company’s projects.

The app is available for Android and iOS operating systems and costs $20 per month for an unlimited number of users. For 2 users the app works free of charge.

Team box

Another great application for organizing collaborators’ activities and company projects is Teambox. It works as a management system that allows the presentation of an idea, a task or a project and its discussion in real time among collaborators.

Some of the app’s resources update the status of tasks and projects and their management, prepare documents in the form of online pages, discussion forums, chats, and record the time spent on each project.

The app is free for up to a maximum of 5 users. When the number of users is larger, a fee of $5 per user is charged. It is available for all operating systems.

Cisco Jabber IM

Following the acquisition of the Jabber company in 2008, Cisco launched an application called Cisco Jabber IM. Aiming to improve collaboration in businesses, the app provides instant messaging, voice and video resources, voicemail, desktop sharing and video conferencing. Thanks to all these features, the app is not limited to Android or iOS mobile devices, but is also available for PC and Mac.

The app allows access to any platform with resources available wherever the user is and regardless of device. The app is based on the XMPP messaging protocol, which means it is compatible with other instant messaging services that use the same protocol, such as Hangouts (formerly GTalk), AIM, and Sametime.
