There are many questions, and the offer of laptops today is so large that we can hardly decide. Actually, it’s not that difficult. In this article I will describe the basic principles and priorities: low price and high performance.

The choice of the manufacturer

There are different opinions, in fact it is better to choose a manufacturer that has a high turnover in the world, for which the production of laptops is the main activity: Lenovo, HP, Dell, Acer, Asus, Toshiba or Samsung. Apple and Sony laptops are separated because their brand costs too much, plus Apple uses its own operating system. These brands are usually chosen by those who want to emphasize status, although the quality of these brands is just a marketing gimmick and the repair is very expensive.

According to what I read on the Internet, the best laptops (quality/price ratio) are Asus products, based on the price the maximum performance is offered by Acer and Lenovo, although the quality, as a rule, is lower. Samsung, Toshiba and Dell have different problems, and the comments on HP are so contradictory that I can’t draw a definitive conclusion. It should be noted that all manufacturers have failed models with a short life, usually due to overheating.

We can buy a good laptop, which will work without problems for years, at a low price, or vice versa, the best performing laptop purchased on someone’s recommendation will be the loyal customer of the service centers.

From the shop. You will be able to see and try a specific model, all this is important because you will be able to see its real quality.

From the Internet. Here the offer of laptops is much wider. The price is lower, sometimes even much lower.

Search and read the comments on the chosen model (on the e-mag site). Do not forget, if everything is fine, it means that the buyer is using the laptop, and comments are usually written by those where something does not work (or hands grow from another place), and good laptops can have negative comments. The concern should be due to the large number of negative comments with the same problem.

In fact, there is no perfect laptop. We can choose the best laptop for months, read dozens of comments and not find the ideal model. Every laptop has flaws, our goal is to find a laptop with flaws that are too small or insignificant.

If you don’t want to go into details and wait for a response

The first option – Remember your friends, who are good at it. You don’t have to rely on sellers in stores, they are usually good people, but often they are not so good and use the «more expensive, the better» model, also they are financially motivated to sell more expensive products.

Second option – be independent and choose an Asus laptop with a price between €400 and €800. If you are passionate about gaming, you can choose something more expensive, otherwise you can also choose the cheaper ones, they all have good performance and excellent design.
